Practice Technologies, Inc. has announced the release of RealPractice™ Private Access Version 2.2.  This release of PTI’s leading work product retrieval application includes enhanced ability to retrieve and manage Best Practices documents, as well as incorporate Best Practices activities outside of RealPractice, such as in a firm’s portal or practice pages.  Version 2.2 will also integrate with the soon to be released RealPractice Public Access, which provides precision access to publicly filed transactional documents and litigation documents using the RealPractice categorization platform.

“RealPractice Private Access provides attorneys with extremely accurate retrieval of work product generated by the firm,” said Peter Ozolin, vice president of enterprise solutions for Practice Technologies, Inc.  “Thanks to the application’s proprietary profiling engine, all search results appear with an abstract of the document in question, so users can quickly discern the value of the search result.  Allowing firm members to indicate a “Best Practices” document brings a level of subjectivity to the winnowing process.  When such a document comes up in a RealPractice search, the user knows that it not only meets his/her search criteria, but that the document in question has proven beneficial to others in the firm.”

With the new Best Practices feature, any one with access to the system can nominate a document for Best Practices status with a single click, and annotate the document.  Such documents are searchable a variety of ways, either through RealPractice’s Folio tools or flagged in general search results.  Users can click through to view the rationale for a given document’s selection as a “Best Practices” document, and thus instantly identify colleagues with experience in an issue they are confronting.
